About St. Pio College of Nursing Services

History

St. Pio College of Nursing was founded on the principles of selfless service, healing, and academic excellence. Named after St. Padre Pio of Pietrelcina, the humble Capuchin friar known for his devotion to the sick and suffering, the institution was established to bridge the gap in healthcare manpower within the region and beyond.

The early years were defined by meticulous planning and the construction of a campus designed to be a sanctuary for focused learning. Every brick laid and every laboratory equipped was a testament to our commitment to excellence. Established in October 2025, sparked by a group of visionary educators and healthcare professionals who recognized a critical need: the world did not just need more nurses; it needed nurses who possessed both technical mastery and a deep, spiritual empathy for the human condition. Following a rigorous period of infrastructure development and faculty recruitment, the college officially opened its doors to its pioneer set of students in November 2025. A group of trailblazers who shared our belief that nursing is a divine vocation. This period marked the transformation of a dream into a living, breathing academic community. We didn’t just build classrooms; we built a culture of discipline, prayer, and scientific inquiry that mirrors the life of St. Padre Pio.

Accreditation and Excellence

From its inception, St. Pio College of Nursing has prioritized quality assurance and adherence to national standards. Following an intensive evaluation of our curriculum, faculty, and clinical facilities, St. Pio College of Nursing successfully secured accreditation from the Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria (NMCN) in the October 2025 for professional certificate. For ND and HND Nursing programs, the National board of Technical Education (NBTE) accredited the school in March 2026. This dual recognition ensures that our graduates are equipped with a qualification that is academically prestigious and professionally versatile. Today, we stand as a beacon of hope and a center for excellence, continuing to expand our reach while remaining steadfast in our mission to produce “Healers of Mind, Body, and Spirit.”

Our Core Values: The Five Pillars of Pio

Compassion (Caritas)

We believe that clinical skill is incomplete without a heart that feels for the patient. Our students are taught to see the person, not just the ailment.

Integrity

Following the ethical demands of both the nursing profession and our spiritual heritage, we uphold absolute honesty in all academic and clinical dealings.

Professional Excellence

Through our NBTE-accredited curriculum, we push our students to meet global standards of nursing practice, ensuring they are competitive on any stage.

Selfless Service

We instill the "Pio Spirit"—a dedication to serving others without the expectation of reward, focusing specifically on the vulnerable and the underserved.

Resillence

In a demanding medical world, we cultivate the mental and spiritual strength required to remain calm and effective under pressure.
